Franklin Jeffers is a multidisciplinary artist who earned a Master of Arts from the University of Alabama, focusing on Ceramics. He holds a B.S. with honors in Studio Art from Southern Oregon University, where he concentrated on Spatial Design and Experimental Performance, with a minor in Art History. His work explores the tension between embodied experience and virtual presence, the long-reaching impact of personal and systemic histories, and the complexities of identity and reentry as a formerly incarcerated individual.
Working with wild clay, iron, and print-based processes, Jeffers creates sculptural and time-based installations that confront themes of transformation, constraint, and survival. At the core of his practice is an exploration of the fractured self, examining how resilience manifests under pressure.
